The car truly is in excellent condition for it's age. The exterior still has most of it's original paint (two panels were repainted). Some would refer to the car as a survivor, yet I would say it more of a well kept and loved car from it's previous owners. The condition of the original glass, rubber seals, trim and body panels are all wonderful. The unique Aubergine (purple) paint color retails a great finish/shine with only light blemishes from normal road use and natural aging. The standard 15 inch Fuchs wheels are in unrestored and great condition. Tires are in good condition, Yokohama brand. This US market 911 is equipped with the optional fog lights. All 1974 911 came with one side mirror (driver's side), and this one was delivered with the bright finish (non painted). This car is a non-sunroof car, which increases interior headroom. The interior on this car is very well preserved with light wear and aging. Carpet is in wonderful condition. Seats show some aging with wear on the drivers seat as well as a tear at the stitching seam. Clear lensed and working gauges. A great working vintage Blaupunkt radio (believed to be original to the car) with manual lift antenna. Climate control panel works, blowing fan and good heat. The dealer installed A/C system is complete and hooked up, but not charged. The A/C fan motor works, but we did not attempt to get the A/C working. Great condition headline. What is so nice with cars like this 911 is the clear fact that it wasn't messed with over the years. The interior on this 911 is very original outside the dark brown floor mats, a period correct floor mat, but not correct to this car. Most likely the mats were installed back when the car was newer. A set of Coco Mats would look great in this car. Mechanically this 911 is great. Being the base model 911 in 1974, the 2.7L flat six developed 143 HP. The engine in this car is stock, and runs great with good fun performance. Over the years, the engine has received steady maintenance A few years ago the engine received a major engine out service with most of the aged seals replace during the service. Upgraded Carrera chain tensioners were also installed. Today, the engine is still very dry for a 2.7L with only light weeping. The 5-speed manual was professional gone through and serviced, and a new clutch was install during the major service. Shifts smooth through all gears. The car is regularly driven on short fun. Some noted recent service work as well as condition. Fluid change (motor oil, transmission, and brake) Inline aluminum aircraft oil cooler - installed at the "S" hose Replace transmission seal at shift input Replaced original fuel hose at pump Front and rear brake rotors - on-car machine turned to resurface rotors. Within spec, brake pads have more than 75% remaining. Various items were replaced due to age. i.e. sway bar bushings, fog light relay, reverse light bulb, etc Some noted past improvements/mechanical care Oil pressure fed, timing chain tensioner 930 lower valve covers Engine resealed - stock condition Transmission - reconditioned Vehicle Factory Options Special Optional Color - Aubergine (eggplant purple) Cinnamon Leatherette interior White Fog Lights (chrome finish frames) Intermittent Wipers (working) Tinted Glass All Stabilizer Bars - F/R Light Metal Wheels, 6 X 15 Pirelli (185/70 VR 15) Engine Compartment Light (later a standard feature) Vent Windows (rear) Retractable Antenna - Left Gauges - Oil tank, Level and Pressure This car is one of our favorite 911s. In our opinion, it doesn't get much better or unique. A great color and fun car to drive. Porsche cars like this are not common to come across. This is a beautiful car that deserves an owner that appreciates it's originality and condition. Being a highly original and well cared for example, I would recommend this car is more for the collector or limited used investment. Of course the owner can do what they wish, yet it is a
